چکیده
Background: ESR inspite of being considered as a non-specific heamatological test is widely used for the detection autoimmune diseases, infections and cancers. Although conventional gold standard methods are accurate authentic but having few biohazard risks more time consuming so thought to be replaced by automated which less not much expensive need validated comparing them with manual (Westergren) method. Objective: To compare values method i.e. Westergren estimation ISED (ALCOR) validate results obtained Study design: A Prospective cross-sectional study duration settings: was conducted at Pathology Department Pak Emirates Military Hospital Rawalpindi from November 2021 April 2022. Material methods: All samples were processed within 1 hour venipuncture. Hemolyzed discarded. separate EDTA sample tubes taken 3ml venous blood collected in each tube respectively. Results: 200 total Westergren's (Manual Method) ISED's estimates (Automated Method). Mean age patients 50.74 ± 16.84 years range 8 88 years, out 54 % male 46 females, 51 OPD 49 admitted Conclusion: The Gold has proven efficient CV p-value calculated individually well all cases statistically insignificant > 0.05%. An automated method for recording the Westergren erythrocyte sedimentation rate.
The peroxydatic activity of haemoglobin in the presence of hydrogen peroxide catalyses the oxidation of TMB to a coloured product. Haemoglobin peroxidase has been termed a 'pseudoperoxidase'7 because, unlike true peroxidases which exhibit specificity for phenols, erythrocytes contain a peroxidase (erythrocyte glutathione peroxidase) specific for oxidation of reduced glutathione. This causes the...
متن کاملA Novel Method for Automated Estimation of Effective Parameters of Complex Auditory Brainstem Response: Adaptive Processing based on Correntropy Concept
Objectives: Automated Auditory Brainstem Responses (ABR) peak detection is a novel technique to facilitate the measurement of neural synchrony along the auditory pathway through the brainstem. Analyzing the location of the peaks in these signals and the time interval between them may be utilized either for analyzing the hearing process or detecting peripheral and central lesions in the human he...
متن کاملCost Function Modelling for Semi-automated SC, RTG and Automated and Semi-automated RMG Container Yard Operating Systems
This study analyses the concept of cost functions for semi-automated Straddle Carrier (SC), Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) and automated Rail Mounted Gantry (RMG) container yard operating cranes. It develops a generic cost based model for a pair-wise comparison, analysis and evaluation of economic efficiency and effectiveness of container yard equipment to be used for decision-making by terminal pla...
متن کاملComparative Study between the Westergren and Automated Method for Determination of the Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate
A comparative study between the standard Westergren and a new automated method for the determination of erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) was performed on 80 individual subjects. From this study, the comparison-of-methods plot automated method (X) and VS Westergren method (Y) gave the least square linear regression equation of Y=0.978 X + 0.64 (r=0.98). Precision analysis gave a coefficient ...
متن کاملCompendial Requirements for Automated Microbiological Method Validation
Pharmacopeial microbiological tests detect and/or enumerate microbes that replicate in the presence of microbiological media. The challenge presented by adopting modern rapid microbiological methods is determining whether or not they represent the automation of a current compendial method or if they represent an “alternative” to a compendial method. The answer impacts how a firm should qualify ...
